About Us
The CloccaCape design was created in September of 2007 by Rob Tagatz, a hair stylist in Green Bay, WI. With six years of hair styling and 16 years of business experience at the time, he decided to redesign a salon cape from a hair stylists’ perspective. Rob then went to his mother in May of 2008 to have her help him create the new design from his drawings. His mother Jillaine has been an amazing seamstress all her life, and loves working with material and design. Working all summer long, many redesigns later, they came up with their finalized CloccaCape design!
Clocca means "cloak" or "drape" in Latin. CloccaCape was originally designed to be draped on clients like a cloak, and most of the original design has been incorporated into the final product. Rob also wanted to create a new neckline closure, one that would be comfortable for all clients, and one that would fit correctly, but yet incorporate the “cloak” draping design, which was the most difficult part.
All of the materials and products in the Clocca line have been made and manufactured in the United States, except for our towel fabric. It is so very hard to find most products that are made in the US, and Rob and Jillaine's original goal was to keep their manufacturing local, and they have tried to do that to the best of their ability.
